+Tuesday, July 30, 2024. Being a human is a truly amazing thing. Humans can be fantastic. Our mind, our body, our soul are complex structures, we are living beings. Our heart is pumping blood. It is making sure all parts of the body are nurtured with oxygen and many other substances. Our stomach is digesting food, converting its energy and substances into something the body can use.

+Mankind has evolved over the past thousands of years. We developed language, writing, mathematics, natural sciences, philosopy. We tried to understand our world, and we managed to use it. We built ships, planes, cars. We built houses, towers, tunnels. We found electricity, magnetism, the atom and its components, explored the structure of space and time.
+At the same time, our social structures evolved. Our community started to build laws, hospitals, schools, parliaments, towsn halls and much more. We are beings who need community, who need each other. We are made to be with others - a little child cannot survive without others, who nurture it, talk to it, take care and be with it. The same is true for adults. Alone we suffer, and we degrade. But with community we thrive and develop.

+What is the larger framework in which humans live. What is the framework in which we develop? What is the purpose and target of our life? Humans can set goals themselves. We can be our own target. Or we can declare particular targets, tasks and purposes to be what we want, what we desire, what we will do.

+** Amazing God ... **
+The biblical writings tell us about the larger framework of our world and our life. It is God, the lord, the eternal creator of all what is. He made the world, and he made humans. He made you and me. He is invisible, but not less real than anything else. He is even more real, since he is the reason, source and target of all things.

+The bible has an Old Testament, where God started to talk and to live with some particular people, the Jewish people. And it has the New Testament, where God became human in Jesus, which is called the Christ. He bridges the gap between human perception, human targets and human life, and his larger reality. He comes to build a relationship, to start to be with us, to invite us to trust, faith and community.
+Every human can address God, he or she can talk to him, we can get into a relationship and start it right now, where we are. In and through Jesus God made this possible. When we give it a try, we can learn about him. When I take him serious, he answers.
