Dienstag, 28. Juni 2016. Worte sind wichtig. Wir haben begonnen, die Bedeutung der Worte für unser Leben zu erkunden. Sie haben eine viel tiefere Bedeutung als wir oft denken - unser Geist, unser Verstand, unsere Gefühle sind von Worten geformt, von Worten geführt, sie sind mit Worten erfüllt und mit Bildern (wieder beschrieben durch Worte). Worte gehen tief.

Was ist der Mensch? …

Als Wissenschaftler denke ich seit Jahren darüber nach, wie unser Verstand funktioniert. Du kannst die Frage von der Seite der Neurowissenschaft angehen. Wie bilden die Neuronen und ihre Verbindungen Gedanken, Emotionen und mentale Aktivität? Du kannst sie von der Perspektive der Sozialwissenschaften angehen und der Philosophie. Du kannst Werkzeuge der Psychologie zur Hilfe nehmen. Du kannst versuchen, sie aus einer theologischen Perspektive zu sehen.

Wir denken in Kategorien. Wir kennen Schuhe, Häuser, Autos. Wir denken in Beziehungen und Attributen: groß und grün. In der Informatik versuchen wir solche Dinge in Programmiersprachen und Datenbanken einzufangen. Und die Kategorien unseres Verstandes sind stark verbunden mit Worten. Wir drücken alles in Worten aus - die Beziehungen und Attribute ebenso wie die Kategorien selbst. Wir können gar nicht anders als Worte nutzen, und ich würde so weit gehen zu sagen: wir sind Worte. Es gibt keinen Menschen ohne Sprache und ihre Nutzung.

Im Licht der Einsichten, welche die Wissenschaft heute gewinnt, ist der Fokus der biblischen Worte ziemlich erstaunlich. Die Bibel wusste es immer schon. Sie ist voller tiefer Einsicht in den Menschen. Die Rolle von Gottes Gesetz wird in vielen Teilen des alten Testaments reflektiert ebenso wie in den Liedern des Psalter. Worte gehen tief, denn sie formen nicht nur was wir sind, sondern auch wie wir uns verhalten und was wir tun. Lass uns hineinsehen in Psalm 119, wo das Wort Gottes das Hauptthema ist:

Gottes Wort …

169 Höre mein Flehen, Herr; lass es mich begreifen, wie du es mir versprochen hast. 170 Erhöre mein Gebet und rette mich, wie du es mir versprochen hast. 171 Meine Lippen sollen dich loben, denn du lehrst mich deine Ordnungen. 172 Von deinem Wort will ich singen, denn alle deine Gebote sind gerecht. 173 Steh mir hilfreich zur Seite, denn ich habe mich entschieden, deine Gebote zu halten. 174 Herr, nach deiner Rettung sehne ich mich, dein Gesetz ist meine Freude. 175 Erhalte mich am Leben, damit ich dich preisen kann; und deine Gesetze sollen mir dabei helfen. 176 Ich habe mich verirrt wie ein verlorenes Schaf; suche und finde mich, denn ich habe deine Gebote nicht vergessen. (Psalm 119, 169ff)

Der Psalm spricht über Gottes Wort, und über sein Gesetz. Doch er ist weit entfernt davon, selbstgerecht zu sein. Er ist ein Gebet. Der Autor drängt Gott. Aber er weiss, dass Gott alles wirkt. Er versucht, sich nach dem Gesetz zu richten. Aber das rettet ihn nicht. Er braucht Hilfe. Das Gesetz ist da, ihn zu bewahren, es ist nicht er, welcher die Macht hat. Ihn durchzubringen ist allein Gottes Werk! Gott ist der große Lehrer.

Dieser Psalm, wie so viele, hat eine prophetische Dimension. Der Schreiber merkt, dass er Rettung benötigt, er ist wie ein verlorenes Schaaf. Er sehnt sich nach Gottes Rettung. Sie ist noch nicht da, auch wenn er das Gesetzt hat. Er muss warten, er muss im Verlangen bleiben. Gottes Rettung wird in Jesus Christus kommen, und sie ist heute gekommen. Aber als dieser Psalm geschrieben wurde, da war er prophetisch, er hat einen Blick erhascht auf die Welt, die kommen wird, und auf die Beziehung zwischen dem Alten Testament und dem Neuen Testament, hier geschrieben inmitten des alten Testaments.
