What wisdom can mean ...

Wednesday, June 19, 2013. The New Testament promises the spirit of God, who is the spirit of Jesus, the spirit of wisdom, the spirit which lives with us, guides us and teaches us. What does that mean day by day, in a concrete way?

Day by day spirit …

The spirit helps us to lead our life. That starts with getting up in the morning. Having breakfast and going to school or to our job is part of what the spirit wants to help us with. Sometimes, we have negative thoughts on our way to our workplace. Perhaps there are challenges or problems. The spirit can help us, to deal with our own feelings, with our thoughts, with the circles and processes going on in our mind and our heart.

I believe that God wants to be with us in all this, in our daily activities, in our job, in our relationships. He wants to help us to grow towards HIM in all of this. That means that we start to see things, challenges, people and relationships as a part of his kingdom. When his spirit comes into our heart and our mind, it starts to influence us. It might not change everything in one day. But it can help us in crucial decisions.

For example: help me to stop a vicious circle of negative thoughts, and start to replace them by positive thoughts which come from the heart of the Lord. The Lord will not like everything what happens and what people do, but he loves every individual independent of the things we do or live. He wants to help, he is there to support and to transform our activities into something good!

God's Guidance…

**

We can ask God for his guidance, today by his spirit - as well as by his power which can change everything any time. He is there, and he will contribute to our day. Try it out today. Ask the Lord in prayer to come and to be there. Ask him to help and to guide you.

Perhaps you have done this recently and now you ask yourself: has this been God's guidance? Perhaps you failed completely. Or there is no progress visible.

It might be that the Lord wants to show you how much larger he is than our difficulties and problems. He might be on a journey with you to teach you things which are completely different from what you are trying to resolve currently. Perhaps you think: if this is not resolved, I cannot believe. But you can. Your faith is not dependent on particular events or on a setup which you choose. He is the Lord, in any case, and forever. Come and believe. Come and follow. Come and be changed!
