God - just human! ...

Friday, April 17, 2015. We have asked, whether God exists. But if we could meet him, how would you recognize him? How should God come to you? What are the signs which should come with him? Wonders? How should he close himself? What should he do? What wear? What should he say?

Be a true human …

When God comes, should he be a phenomenon in the sky? We know so many strange things on this earth - is it that what we want to see to recognize God? Do we want some new reliable type of wonder? When God comes, should he be a human? Should he not be what he created us to be? Should he not come and be one of us? Should he not show us, how to be what he wanted us to be? If God came, he should show us how humanity works, how life can work!

We all know, that posessions do not characterize a human well. It is the human just as he is, which is fantastic. All the rest is just unimportant, when it comes to the really important questions. A human, just with his word, just with his faith, just as he is - that should be how God should come!

It is good to think a little bit, how we expect God to be. It is good when I ask myself, how do I recognize God? But at some point we also need to turn to what we hear, to what is reported and passed on to us: to the bible and its message. Yes, the human way is the way God chose. He came. He did it. He came to talk to us, to live with us, to experience humanity and to show us humanity. In Christ Jesus, the son, he was here. The apostle Paul describes it in his letter to the Colossians:

Christ, the son, the human, God himself …

15 The Son is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn over all creation. 16 For in him all things were created: things in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or powers or rulers or authorities; all things have been created through him and for him. 17 He is before all things, and in him all things hold together. 18 And he is the head of the body, the church; he is the beginning and the firstborn from among the dead, so that in everything he might have the supremacy. 19 For God was pleased to have all his fullness dwell in him, 20 and through him to reconcile to himself all things, whether things on earth or things in heaven, by making peace through his blood, shed on the cross. 21 Once you were alienated from God and were enemies in your minds because of7 your evil behavior. 22 But now he has reconciled you by Christ’s physical body through death to present you holy in his sight, without blemish and free from accusation— 23 if you continue in your faith, established and firm, and do not move from the hope held out in the gospel. This is the gospel that you heard and that has been proclaimed to every creature under heaven, and of which I, Paul, have become a servant. (Col 1, 15-23)

The biblical description keeps me thinking. It keeps me wondering. It keeps me being amazed by the choices made here. God became human - a true human. He lived among us, to be a template of humanity. He did not have wapons, nor did he have posessions. He was just a human, with his word, with his faith, with his trust in the eternal father. What a human … Jesus!

God is greatly full of mercy. The way he treats us is liberating, it is full of friendliness and joy, full of peace - just a human, nothing more! Fantastic. (RWEP) ... more texts
