The Purity of the Lord ...

Tuesday, April 12, 2016. As humans we have a chance to lead a life of truth and truthfulness, of clarity, purity, reliability. It is a chance, and it is an invitation. There is much to discover, much to gain, and much mercy to receive!

Purity and Mercy …

I ran into Psalm 101 this morning, listening to Davis writing and singing about the purity of the Lord. It is a fantastic adventure to think about this purity, to try to understand it, to try to follow it and learn about it.

1 A Psalm of David. I will sing of steadfast love and justice; to you, O Lord, I will make music. 2 I will ponder the way that is blameless. Oh when will you come to me? I will walk with integrity of heart within my house; 3 I will not set before my eyes anything that is worthless. I hate the work of those who fall away; it shall not cling to me. 4 A perverse heart shall be far from me; I will know nothing of evil. 5 Whoever slanders his neighbor secretly I will destroy. Whoever has a haughty look and an arrogant heart I will not endure. 6 I will look with favor on the faithful in the land, that they may dwell with me; he who walks in the way that is blameless shall minister to me. 7 No one who practices deceit shall dwell in my house; no one who utters lies shall continue before my eyes. 8 Morning by morning I will destroy all the wicked in the land, cutting off all the evildoers from the city of the Lord. (Psalm 101)

The psalm tells us much about the kingdom of heaven. It sets the standards, in the sense that it tells us what God hates: slander, haughty, arrogance, deceit, lies, wickedness, evil. And it tells us what God loves: steadfast love and justice, music, blameless hearts, faithfulness.

How do deal with it …

We will probably find out that our purity is not enough to merge it into the purity of the Lord. But he has established Christ, he has created an open source of forgiveness and purity, he has opened the door to heaven. In Christ, we can enter, in him, we are made worthy to explore and learn and enter his purity!

It is fantastic if we can reach the ground of life, if we can find the purity of the heart. It is fantastic, if we can find him, the eternal living God. Here, with him, all is different. New hope is in him, he will do things well.

And there is much to discover in our daily life. When we fully rely on him, with all what we plan, do, want, feel, we will find his wonders to fill our days. He is a mighty fortress, he is a wonderful savior and helper and friend. He is the majestic king of the universe. (RWEP) ... more texts
