Meditating God's Splendor ...

Friday, August 5, 2016. God is great. Some people will ask: how do you know, where is God. But when you get into deeper understanding, when you got to know God through Christ Jesus, the experiences and insight which you gain lead to one and only one conclusion: God is fantastic. The creator and savior of heaven and earth is wonderful and breathtaking.

Glorious Majesty …

God is great for many things, indeed. He is of glorious splendor. The heavens and the earth reflect this splendor. Creation shows his majesty, his insight, his power and unbelievable greatness both in physical terms of distance, in temporal terms of millions of years, in microscopy of structures … it is just unbelievably wonderful!

But there is much more. God made humans, culture, civilization. He made kids and young men and women. He made age and death. He made love and support. He made language. He made feelings and intelligence. It is all fascinating and great, and it is made by the origin and source of creation, by him.

Personality and Relationships …

God is a personal God. We learn that he is relationship in himself, in father and son and holy spirit. He has made humans in his image, and he has become human in his son Jesus. He wants to be with us, and wants us to be with him. He loves, and he is said to be love itself.

We can relate to God. This relationship is more than some abstract thought. It is more than just some meditation. It is a deep companionship. We are told that the holy spirit lives in us, when we come to faith in Jesus. We hear that we become the body of Christ, through faith and discipleship. God is not only the great creator, who would be distant and unreachable, but he has gone down into our neighborhood and he wants to come into our life, to be the one who is in and with us in all things!

What else could you say than: how wonderful! Each and every time I turn to the Lord with a sincere attention, I am surprised and overwhelmed again, by his insight, wisdom, power and mercy.
