Faith in the Modern World ...
Wednesday, Dec 27, 2017. Faith in the modern world is always an adventure. Today, in the 21st century, we have learned a lot about nature. We have been able to invent and manufacture many goods which enable us to live in a way different from the time 100, 300 or even 1500 years ago. So everything seems to be different, right?
Faith Today …
It is highly exciting to think about faith today, to think about God, to think about who we are, what we know, what we feel, and how we come to our decisions, to our ideas, to our actions.
How does God enter the game of our life? What is his role? How do we relate to him?
Perhaps you are a Christian and have found your role and relationship with respect to the Lord, the eternal God. Or you are no a Christian, you might be an atheist or agnostic, who does not really know what to think. In both cases I would like to invite you to start thinking about faith, about the biblical books. Day by day we want to go one step further, throughout the year 2018.
A year long of thoughts …
Currently we have the time between the years. This talks about the days between Christmas and the beginning of the new year. Many people are on holiday during these days, and in general businesses are much calmer. We are able to clean up, to spend some time with the family.
The time between the years allows us to think about our life. Of course, any day of the year gives you the same freedom. We can and want to think about our life. We can and want to think about faith, about God today, every day.
The bible is an old book. But it is highly relevant for us today. It has influenced basically all levels of human society, of our thoughts, of our way to interact, of our relationships. But there is more! The bible wants to talk to us today. There is the spiritual dimension of this book. There is God, who wants to relate to us, to you and to me …
Let us step by step explore the world of faith, of science, of society and relationshis in the coming year. Let us exploe the bible. We will be astonished and surprised about what we find … life is fantastic, and so is God! Come and see … (Roland Potthast) ... further texts
