Who owns my day? ...

Wednesday, Feb 11, 2009. Hello and good morning. “This is the day, that the Lord has made! Let us be glad in it.” Can you imagine to follow this advice, given by one of the Psalm writers?

Is this day the day which God has made? Is this day God's day? Who owns my day? Who controls my day? Who is responsible for my day? The words of the Psalm writer have a far reaching meaning. God is the almighty creator of both space and time. He as made this particular day. He has made it for us to live in it, to be with him today. God had made all days for humans to live in the presence of his love and joy. It did not turn out like this - he also gave freedom to his people. Freedom meant bad choices as well. We experience the mess of many bad choices every day.

It was and is the key task of Jesus to bring us back into God's presence. He wants us to experience the days as those who have been made by the Lord. It is a big difference to live with him in contrast to a life without him. He is the living hope, the living love, the living truth on this planet! Every day has been made by him to be in the joy of his presence, whatever other things there might be around us. [R.P., Reading, UK]
