Busy Summer Days ...

Wednesday, June 30, 2010. The days are hot. And my days have been quite busy recently. How are you today? Did you already start your summer holiday? Some of us are depending on school terms, others are free to take some days off when ever they want or when it fits into the schedule of their employer.

Travel, Worship, Cell Group … balance!

I have been on many business trips over the last three weeks. Life is different when you sit in trains and planes in Europe or around the globe. It is exciting to go - I meet many friends and colleagues. But it is also a challenge. Time is tight and when you go for business lunch and business dinner over some days, time to relax becomes very precious.

On Sunday I managed to make it into our worship service in the morning. That was a rich service, quite good if you ask me. I appreciate thorough preparations of the people who lead the service, the music team and the preacher. But more than that I like the others around, the community and first of all: God's presence.

Last night we had our cell group meeting. That brought a completely different topic: guilt and how to deal with it. It was very interesting to hear the different thoughts. We talked about our personal approach, about personal struggle with the topic as well. And we talked about God's forgiveness. He puts us into a wide space. His path for us is not narrow, but “in him” is freedom!

God's mark in my life?

What is God's mark in my life? When you lead a very busy life, a life in the middle of this world, that is an important question to ask.

Over the past weeks I realized God's presence in my life quite clearly. He is there by the way he teaches me to deal with people and with challenges. I know the dimension of his presence. I can go to him and bring him people and problems in prayer. I can ask for his guidance.

With God we are not alone. Without God, you might have other people, but they are not necessarily trustworthy. God does not let us down. People do. But its not only the aspect of help. God is fantastic. The way he is is a source of joy, a source of hope and excitement. Can it be true, that God is great? Can it be a reality that he does not only exist, but is a fantastic God, a great being, full of love and trust. The great thing is that it IS true and that his presence puts a strong mark into my life, every day. ... more texts
