Monday, May 2, 2016. Faith is the heart of Christianity. It is trust and faith, which we are called to, including the truth and truthfulness which is the character of God. Faith is the line which is there through the whole bible, starting with the stories about the garden Eden, Noah, Abraham and the human history, the prophets Jesaja, Jeremia and Ezekiel, and then culminating in the story about Jesus and his faith on the way to the cross.

It is all about faith …

It is by grace and through faith: salvation is coming to us in Christ Jesus. God loves us deeply, and when we realize this love, his humility, his deep dedication, we start to believe him and to believe in him. Our life starts to change - touched by a spirit which is has a greatness beyond measure!

Faith is the reaction of humans to the majesty and glory of God, but also to his unbelievable attitude of service and love. He does not let you down, even if you hurt him. He is truthful and faithful! It can lead us to thanks and praise, when we see the fruits of this faith in humans, just as the apostle Paul writes to his fellow believers in Corinth:

3 We always thank God, the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, when we pray for you, 4 since we heard of your faith in Christ Jesus and of the love that you have for all the saints, 5 because of the hope laid up for you in heaven. Of this you have heard before in the word of the truth, the gospel, 6 which has come to you, as indeed in the whole world it is bearing fruit and increasing—as it also does among you, since the day you heard it and understood the grace of God in truth, 7 just as you learned it from Epaphras our beloved fellow servant. (Col 1, 1-4)

Your faith? …

How is your own faith doing? Are you struggling, with others or with yourself? Do not worry, but have a look at his mercy. Jesus is treating people with care, and those who come to him struggling find a helping hand. Those who come to put their hope in him find forgiveness, and healing. We find new life in him and with him, a new beginning, a new morning!

Come and join the community of the Lord. Young and old are here, together. Young and old are here, open to listen, open to help, open to support. Even if we are different, we can try to use the differences to our benefit, as a rich and precious gift of the Lord. Love is possible, forgiveness is not an illusion, but a strong power, filled with his spirit!

Come and believe. Join a Christian church in your local neighborhood, one where faith is practices and where the bible is in the center of doctrine and practice. By faith, let Jesus into your life in your own personal prayer. By faith, put all what you have in him - all your fears and hopes, all your guilt, all your gifts.
