Power of Jesus.

Good morning. Thursday, Jan 8, 2008. If we read the New Testament, the person Jesus is in the center of the stories and descriptions. With him God comes to mankind. Jesus talks to various people, in conflict as well as in friendship. The authors report public and private conversations. The texts also contain many promises by Jesus. In faith you will do many great things, he says for example. There are various healings reported, and wonders of different kind. Jesus himself talks about the power of God in the life of those who believe in him.

The power of Jesus can be revolving. Go and walk he tells the lame man. But it can also be a power of a different kind. If someone turns away from his evil ways, that is the power of Jesus. If a group of people turns away from empty goals, that is the power of Jesus. To stay calm and faithful in the middle of severe problems, that is the power of Jesus. But it is also his power to experience his help when he carries us through the times of trouble. [R.P., Reading, UK]
