Monday, April 13, 2009. It is one of the key points of Easter to understand the full meaning of the death and resurrection of Jesus. It can be just some celebration, without a meaning. It can have a meaning, but remain abstract, somehow purely intellectual or purely on some distinct level. Even for people who agree with the story of the resurrection, Easter can be without meaning for their daily life. But all this would not be Easter in its original meaning. Easter is a party of new life, of events which surpass anything normal. Easter is a party of cleaning up the past as well as starting fresh, with a new beginning.

How can Easter become real and concrete for me personally? Probably I will not be directly touched by death and resurrection in the next days. But then, what does it mean for me? How does this come into my life?

Easter can become my own party of cleaning up the past and starting new. Easter can be a power point to get new movement into my life. It can be a symbol of God's power, motivating me to move forward in faith, to clean up and change myself! The power of the resurrection comes with my faith, with me starting to trust that this Jesus will also clean up my life when I start to trust him, start to take him serious. There are dozens of concrete steps and actions which God wants me to take. There are one, two or three important things which need to be renewed in my own life. All this can start today, with Easter. God is there and cares for me. I am important for him. He will help me to get through the trouble I am in and guide me into new waters. [R.W.E.P., jesusnetwork.eu]
