A new spring

Tuesday, April 28, 2009. Can faith draw us forward? Can faith open our eyes for more options than we would be able to see without faith? Can faith open our mind for dreams and with the dreams for a different reality?

Often, when we argue within the limits of a particular theology, faith does not have much power. But when we start to pick up faith as it is reflected in the stories of the bible, it seems that we enter a burst and outbreak of energy, of unlimited possibilities. The mother of Jesus knew about faith. When the wine was out on that wedding celebration she pointed the people to Jesus: “there is no wine any more, Jesus, do something about it!” And from this moment onwards there is an explosion of events throughout the life of Jesus of wonders and events driven by faith.

Let us open our minds and life to faith. We do not need to stay in the misery situation we are in. We do not need to stay in a mode of frustration. We do not need to accept decay. We do not need to accept slavery, but as slavery is abolished today there can be more change for us. God's power is alive today as it was 2000 years ago when Jesus lived as well as 3000 years ago with David and Solomon.

When we start to open our mind to God's possibilities, a full range of nice options and goals starts to grow. It is like a new spring, a new beginning. It is like flowers after a strong winter, like the sun after a cold night. The sun of God wants to shine into our heart and our life, first with hope and then with facts! [R.W.E.P., jesusnetwork.eu]
