Boring Stuff ...

Monday, Aug 6, 2012. Sometimes I am tempted to throw in some remarks on the quest for reason. You try to talk about standards and principles, and it might sound quite theoretical … far away from real life.

Can we stop talking rubbish? …

Isn't it just boring, to follow reason? Can we stop doing boring things? Can we stop talking rubbish and come to the more exciting parts of life? Can we go and do things? Can we go and love, not talk about it. Can we go and help, not just reason about it? Can we go and live, not just discuss living?

Yes, you can. You should do all this, you should live. But reason can be quite helpful to live. When you want to reach a goal, it is a smart idea to think about the tools - otherwise you waste your time and energy. Our mind is a powerful tool, so we should use it well.

We sometimes see theory and practice as opposites, on different sides. But they belong to each other. They should join forces - and suddenly we get powerful insight, we learn from doing things. And there is more to add to this: our emotions. Our heart. Our will, our decisions, our choices! It is not talking rubbish, but about bringing things together.

Let the heart speak …

It is important to let our heart speak. It is important to discover a path to our own emotions, and to bring them into harmony with our mind and our actions, with our decisions and choices. It is important to build a unity out of our life, our faith, our whole existence!

God wants us to love him with all our heart. He wants us to love him with all our mind, and with everything we have. That includes decisions. That includes emotions. That includes intelligence and insight. Things get very exciting, when we bring them together. Things get truly thrilling, when we start faith on all levels of our life.

Principles, which come into life, are very exciting. Imagine your heart coming into full harmony with your reason, with your emotions. Imagine your decisions being in full harmony with the deep longing of your heart. Imagine the tasks of your life to be what you always wanted to do.
