Faith and Experience ...

To be a believer does not mean that the difficulties of life would spare you completely! No, you will get your challenges, and faith will be needed …

How Jesus encourages …

Jesus is encouraging the faith of his disciples by quite straight words. Listen to the far reaching promise which is made by him, according to the gospels of Matthew or Luke:

Mt 17:20 He said to them, “Because of your little faith. For truly, I say to you, if you have faith like a grain of mustard seed, you will say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there,’ and it will move, and nothing will be impossible for you.”

Lu 17:6 And the Lord said, “If you had faith like a grain of mustard seed, you could say to this mulberry tree, ‘Be uprooted and planted in the sea,’ and it would obey you.

Little faith is enough …

Little faith is enough to change the world. You do not need to have huge faith. Just little faith and obedience. God does the rest. It is not my power, it is God's power. It is my role to obey, to follow his fantastic and wise advice. It is my role to learn. He, the ancient of days, has all power and all knowledge, which is surpassing my own understanding by far. This is not a word against reason, but it is a word to enlighten reason and understanding, to be rooted deeply in faith and in the word of God, in life and peace which only he can give!

To live with faith is and remains a challenge. Every day again we are challenged. But we also see great things, when we follow him. His wonders and his power it there. We need patience, yes, to see it come true in our life. But he is the living God, and when we have this tiny little faith, when we listen and do, we will see his glory, even in our very ordinary little life. His love is in the middle of it! What greater things can we find?

Faith is fantastic, because we have a fantastic God. My God, you are unbelievable! It is great to know about you, and to experience your presence. Your wisdom and your insight into our human ways is deep and wise. Have mercy on us, this very day, and let us follow your ways! (RWEP) ... more texts
