Pure Joy …

What is the source of pure joy? What is the source of laughter? In the letter to Philemon, the apostle Paul writes:

7 For I have derived much joy and comfort from your love, my brother, because the hearts of the saints have been refreshed through you. (from Philemon 7)

Being with other humans, whom you can trust - being with brothers and sisters in faith whom you can trust, that is a basis of joy. It is the love and truthfulness of the friends and colleagues and fellow humans, on which joy and laughter can develop

Like a baby, like a kid …

When little kids laugh, we feel the joy of trust and hope. We all know the joy of babies, the joy of young kids, who are not yet concerned about the struggle of life, but they cry when they are hungry and they laugh when they feel well. And we all dream of joy which comes as naive, as pure, as free of sorrow and fear!

God wants to be with us, with you and with me, today, and tomorrow, and for all eternity. He wants to be the basis of our joy and our laughter. He wants to be there with full truth and love. He is pure - and we are invited to join a fantastic community.

We are invited to come to him - and he makes us as pure as he is, through Christ Jesus. We are invited, and we are entering through water and spirit, fully justified through Christ, fully renewed, like a newborn child, like an innocent baby - what a story, what an invitation!
