Our Social System 2 - How change is coming ...

Wednesday, August 18, 2010. How should we deal with our social systems? Christianity does not provide a coherent social vision! Its goal is not revolution. But still its goal is sincere change. The change is to come from many individuals who discover the Lord. The change is to come from you and me!

The New Testament provides what could be called a “principle-oriented how to”. It does not tell us exactly, how our society should look like. It does not provide a constitution of the type we are used to. But it gives us basic guidance, basic principles, a deep motivation and clear goal: Jesus himself.

God wants our society to change. But he wants this change to be sustainable and deep. He wants us to change our hearts and our will first, then the social structures, actions, institutions etc etc will change as well.

Let's join his team …

First of all, God wants us to be part of his team. He wants us independent of any goals for society. He wants us to be with him - just because he loves us. It is nearly impossible to imagine God's love, who loves every single person on this planet.

Second, God is a God of creativity, the creator who was creating and is creating. When we come to faith we start a personal journey with him, which changes our own life and it also changes our environment. It cannot remain the same, when we change. We cannot remain the same, when we are connected to God, the great savior!

The change will come with and through our own will. Not by force, but by spirit. He will change our hearts. With new hearts we will make different decisions, and that will have a huge impact on us and on everything. Social change is about to come when people come to faith and live in faith. God's love, his justice, his truth, his mercy, his reliability and trustworthiness will further spread into mankind. ... more texts
