Worthy is the Lamb ...
Monday, March 9, 2015. Sometimes it is good to be taken into the future. It is good to be taken into an environment where trust and truth and mercy fully reigns. In particular when you are challenged and tempted, it is good to clarify for yourself what will come, and who God is.
Opening the Scroll …
In a moment of temptation the following sentence helped me much: “Worthy is the Lamb, who was slain, to receive power and wealth and wisdom and strength and honor and glory and praise!” (Rev 5, 12). It is a sentence which is said when it comes to the opening of the book of life. Recall that in this book it is written who is taken into heaven. It is a book to tell who is worthy to enter the kingdom of God. Its value is untold, the value of life itself.
I do not know where you are when it comes to the understanding of the New Testament. Where are you when it comes to biblical faith? But the point is that God himself, in Christ Jesus, became human and died at the cross. God himself earned forgiveness, he came to pay, the son of God came to receive power and wealth and wisdom and strength - after he had given all for mankind.
We all are not worthy to open this scroll. We are not worthy to open the book of life. But by Christ through faith we are made worthy to have our names written there - an unbelievable value, and an unbelievable joy. His mercy reigns in our heart!
Back to mercy …
When you are ignored or when you are mistrusted, it is possible that you find strong feelings inside of you. I have been fighting to find back to mercy, to find back to a state where I could let it go, where I would have the right tool to let forgivenes reign in my own heart and in my mind. I found it, it is the lamb, who is worthy to open this scroll, the lamb who was slain. Christ Jesus is this lamb, the risen Lord, the eternal son of God.
The life of Jesus and the death of Jesus and the resurrection of Jesus is the story of my life. It is the story which reigns my life, which guides my life, which is the only hope and future for my life. Only here we find all what is needed to gain full peace, and full mercy, and full truth.
In the New Testament we are promised the holy spirit. And indeed, he comes into our life. We can experience this spirit: in the first place when mercy and forgiveness enter our life, our heart, our mind, our actions. This is true power - not the stupid physical power of armees and hierarchies. But the power of the spirit of God, the power of the lamb, who is worthy to receive power and wealth and wisdom and strength and honor and glory and praise! (RWEP) ... more texts
