When God Stops You …
One important point keeps popping up in my mind when I think about prayer. What if God stops you. What if God does not want you to move along some path - just because it is not good. What if you want to go the wrong direction and pray for it?
This is exactly the point when we do not live in faith, but use prayer. In this case, we use prayer for our own ideas, for things which do not fit into the kingdom of God. We all live in a world which is separated from him with much of its core. We do things which are not good, which do not fit to trust, truth, wisdom, love and God's purity. We all have habits which are not good in his eyes.
How can we think that he will give us the wrong things. You would not give toxin to someone you love, even if he or she likes it. Even if it gives some good feelings initially. It will destroy, so you will not listen to such a request! It can be good, if God stops you.
God always listens to your prayer …
God always listens to prayer. But only if what we ask for can be made to fit into something good, he will give it to us. This is part of “faith”. Faith means that we start to be healed, that we start to be transformed, that we start to learn how to live in his kingdom.
Remember that his kingdom is one where we are fully appreciated with what we are. Often we try to reach something with the goal to become something. We try to be loved for what we have, what we do, how we look … Get me right: it is good to develop your talents. It is fantastic, if you can give joy to others by your music, your art, your friendship, your intelligence, your skills. All that is very good indeed, and you will get God's support with it. But it is not there to make you be loved. You are loved deeply by the Lord. Your parents love you, with and without particular skills and talents.
Prayer is an adventure. Faith is an adventure. They both belong to each other, since there is no faith without prayer and no prayer heard without faith. Lord, fill our heart with your love, your insight, your truth, your wisdom and your faith today, please! (RWEP) ... more texts
