The Lord and His Spirit ...

Monday, June 17, 2013. Do you know that God wants to be with you? Do you know that God, the creator, is searching your heart? Do you know that he wants to live with you, and that he wants you to live with him?

We can live our life without God. Ever since, that has been a possibility for humans. God has given us freedom, to ignore him and live our short little life without him. He wants to be with us, and us to be with him - but he wants us with free decisions. He wants our love, our heart, our mind - not by force, but by spirit!

There is a wonderful God. We have a fantastic creator. People have always asked: what is God like? Who is he? Where is he? What is he doing? And why is he not doing this or that, not helping here or healing there? Do we know him? Do we know his reasoning? Do we understand his ways?

God has shown himself, many times in history, and in unparalleled way in Christ Jesus. Jesus shows who God is, in all what he does and says. And in Jesus God has set a sign of forgiveness and future, a sign of love and truth at the same time.

Often, people have speculated about who the abstract God may be. But God is not abstract. Everything he has created is concrete. Humans are individuals. And God came into his creation in a concrete way: in Jesus. Christianity was born when God established this sign of peace and forgiveness, the cross where Jesus died. He came to show: see, I love you so much, that I am even taking all your sins and your ignorance and hatred and wrong decisions into my grave.

Do you know that God wants to be with you? He wants to forgive your sins as well, wants you to come to him, the eternal father. He wants you to arrive home, savely. He has done everything, what is necessary, already. In Jesus, he has prepared you a home. No one needs to stay a lonely wolf in a lost mankind. We can become children of the most high - in faith and through his holy spirit, who comes into our heart and our mind to renew and reconcile.

Come, and believe in me, says Jesus. Come, and your sins are forgiven. Come home, today and forever. Faith is starting a fantastic journey, with the Lord. Do you know, that God is searching your heart today? (Roland Potthast) ... more texts
